Progress cyclists made a great performance at the Masters MTB World Championships in Vallnord (Andorra) specially Núria Espinosa, 2nd in Master 40, and José Miguel Suárez, 3rd in Master 30.
It was time for the annual veteran's event: the Masters MTB World Championships organized by UCI that this 2017 took place in Vallnord (Andorra). The XC World Cup track of 4'5km length where riders had to complete 4 laps was hilly and full of nice singletracks. Actually, it's the same track that will hold Elite riders this weekend.
Progress riders with CB3 wheels on their bikes didn't miss the appointment and they passed it with a very good grade. The race of Núria Espinosa of the Pansalud BGTeam was really remarkable as long as she ended up with a second place in Master 40 in her first appearance only passed by the italian Lorena Zocca.
José Miguel Suárez from Andalucía with his Progress CB3 wheels surprised everyone with a third place in Master 30 which means a good prize for a big preparation. Unfortunately Javier Salamero wasn't in his best shape due to a lack of training caused by an injury but he could manage to finish in seventh place in Master 50. The same position as Pablo Egeda in Master 35 after having been fighting with the leading group in first laps.
Our rider in Downhill modality Joan Vicente Merida from Vilabike team, made a good job in the 2,5km downhill track of Vallnord Bike Park finishing sixteen in Master 35 category. Progress got 4 riders int first seven positions in XCO Masters categories of World Championship, the warm-up of big moments that are going to happen next weekend with the celebration of the Elite World Cup of XCO and DH.
